i took this in september
and it makes me miss blue skies and full trees
and oh we have a long winter ahead of us.
i should probably keep all photos like this
hidden.
oh my. it's december! and there's no snow on the ground!
this photo was taken the day after thanksgiving
on a walk with my sister and dad.
there was no snow on the ground that day, either.
it will come, though.
winter, i mean.
and when it does, well,
i will take lots of photos of snow.
i feel like it happened
suddenly.
one day, i'm waiting for
the blue skies
and changing leaves,
but there's nothing but gray.
and then, just like that:
color.
the sun shone down
on a patch of lake
for just a moment,
then disappeared.
i can definitely feel the light
but this time
i don't think it's going
anywhere.
we went to this forest preserve
that surrounds a large research lab
and joked that inside,
they were keeping the island from Lost
or making clones
or something.
"What do you think those numbers mean?"
"Don't ask. Just keep walking."
i took a picture when he wasn't looking.
i'm jacqui. i find myself taking notice in simple things. like light and kitchens and little flowers. and the everyday life that surrounds them. trying on this new space to share and to learn. we'll see how it fits.
